A custom foot orthotic is a device that is designed to align the wearers’ foot and ankle into the most anatomically efficient position.
They resemble insoles, but are biomechanical medical appliances that are custom made to correct your specific foot imbalance. The plastic body of the custom orthotic helps to re-align the foot by redirecting and reducing a certain motion that takes place during the gait cycle. Custom orthotics fit into your shoes as comfortably as an insole - and they have the advantage of being made from imprints of your feet, so they are designed specifically for your individual foot problems.
Custom orthotics will not reduce muscle tone of the lower leg and foot musculature; rather they will help position your foot so you will be using the right muscles at the right time during the gait cycle. This aids in minimizing fatigue and allowing your muscles to be used more efficiently.
Our innovative diagnostic tool, The TOG GaitScanTM, is used in conjunction with our physical foot assessment to create a digital cast which allows us to analyze the biomechanics of your feet. This helps us create a custom orthotic that is specific to your needs. The TOG GaitScanTM technology is capable of scanning a rate of 300 frames per second, and utilizes 4096 sensors to complete the scan, making it an industry leader in dynamic scanning capabilities.
